Award Winning Veg!

|
The local village, Llanmadoc, recently held their annual village show. For the first time the St Madoc Centre entered produce grown from our own allotment. Not knowing what to expect staff from the centre pensively arrived at the village hall to find out that out of our ten entries into the show 7 received awards, and 3 won first place! For our first attempt, to win 7 awards against around 300 other entries, is quite impressive, well, we think so anyway! |

After the awards were given out the entrants were auctioned off. The first auction, three raspberries, went for a measly 75p, but things did pick up after that, with the first place onions and leeks going for more than fifteen pounds! All the proceeds from this auctioning were given to charity, either the Salvation Army, or the Swansea Missionaries of Charity respectively.
Thanks must be given to the Llanmadoc Shop, who donated the refreshments and after-show food for no cost at all, allowing all of the proceeds to go to charity.
The St Madoc Centre would like to thank Jess and Mark who pretty much singlehandedly (or should that be doublehandedly?) grew our award winning vegetables.
